NYC - DBGB Kitchen & Bar - Restaurant Week - Friday, July 25, 2014

Last Friday, we headed to DBGB for Restaurant Week. We feel the menus are typically hit or miss across the board, but we reviewed this one and felt it was worthwhile.  We have been to DBGB several times and have always enjoy it.  When we got there, the restaurant was hopping and there was a very young vibe which makes sense for summer restaurant week!  We were seated promptly despite the crowd, and we were offered drinks pretty quickly.  We both ordered cocktails.  I had the DB Tea and Chris got the Lemon Thyme.  For the second round, we both imbibed in the Lemon Thyme.
For our appetizers, Chris got the oysters off the RW menu and added on a second appetizer of corn soup (which incidentally was also on the restaurant week menu).  The soup was delicious and the oysters were typical fare.  I had the heirloom tomato salad to start which was delicious!  And then for my entree I had the salmon, delicious again and very filling.  And Chris got the farmhouse sausage which he loved.  DBGB is known for their sausage!  We both opted for the "deconstructed" black forest cake.  I think I prefer it "constructed" but it was still delicious.  We were stuffed at the end but thoroughly enjoyed our meal.  We were not rushed, and we had good service!
